Why are women still shaving like it's the 90s?

More than 1.8 billion women in the world, shave. It's a crazy thought, right?

What's even more crazy, is the fact that a lot of women are still shaving like it's 1915. Well, not quite but that is about the time women started shaving their body parts and at the risk of sounding dramatic it really hasn't progressed much since then for women.

You ask any girly these days about their shaving habits (go on I dare you - it's never talked about) and you'll find their responses are almost all the same. They reach for whatever they can find in the shower when they're shaving and it usually falls into one of three categories:

Three things women shave with:
- Their boyfriend's shaving cream (we feel ya - its great but the man-smell is not)
- Gooey gel or the dried up bar of soap that's sludging on the shower shelf
- Or, yep, you guessed it. Water. Plain, old water. (yep, some queens go full comando - ouch!)

The mere mention to any lady of a shaving cream just for women seems to spark the same, deer-in-headlights response "Wait, what?! Hang on a minute, why don't we have our own shaving cream? What the hell!".

So this poses the question then - why on Earth are women these days still shaving like its the 1990s, or worse yet, why are we so okay with it?

Using disposable, flimsy plastic razors and whatever you can get your hands on while twisting like a pretzel in the shower or the bath just seems outrageous yet it's something us ladies have given little thought to over the years.

Instead, we're happy to peruse the aisles of our department stores and pharmacies past rows and rows of men's shaving creams without giving one thought to our own lack of shaving etiquette or options.

Furthermore we're happy to indulge in every single beauty trend that comes our way, from Korean face-masks to light therapy and body mists that cost a small fortune yet the one routine that most women do on a weekly basis for almost their entire lives is merely forgotten.

Well not anymore. It's about time the women's shaving scene stepped out of the shadows, into the spotlight and sat its pretty little perky self into every queen's shower, bathtub and vanity around the globe. Shaving is getting a glow-up, and blessd is here to do it.

Shave on, queens.
